POINT A PIERRE WILD FOWL TRUST
This bird sanctuary is located on the grounds of the Petrolin refinery near Claxton Bay. Established in 1966, it covers 25 hectares of wetlands and includes two lakes that have become home to a wide variety of birds, some of which are threatened with extinction. Today, the reserve is proud to have achieved great success in its policy of species protection. For example, it has saved several types of ducks that were no longer found in Venezuela or Mexico, and then re-established them in their natural territories.
