HARRY'S PROMENADE

Harry's Promenade is named after Lord Harris, British governor from 1846 to 1856, who in a generous gesture dedicated this avenue to the construction of public buildings and a pleasant promenade for the citizens. As the language spoken at the time was French, a church called "Notre Dame de Bon Secours" was erected here, as well as a city hall in 1853. There is also a steam locomotive that dates back to the end of the 19th century, when the train still existed on the island. " Last train to San Fernando " is a very famous calypso refrain here!
