This hotel is an institution in Crown Point. In the 1960s, the Queen of England even came to enjoy the facilities! It enjoys a privileged location with private access to Store Bay beach through a magnificent and idyllic garden planted with beautiful trees. The apartments in the main building were renovated in 2022. They are very pleasant, all with balcony on the sea and equipped kitchenette, wifi and air conditioning. The swimming pool, its bar and restaurant offer an exceptional view of the sea. Very good choice.

Horrible hotel, catastrophically bad staff and even worse and insulting manager which explains the staff. Zero stars if that existed.

Messed up check in:
On arrival they messed up our reservation. We booked 2 cabanas and a room but they double booked and asked us to change rooms. First we thought that we had no choice and we were going to agree. Then we asked to keep our original booking and we were eventually able to keep our rooms for which the front staff got mad and annoyed with us for a back and forth that they started in the first place. We did get an early check in for one room.

Double Charging us: so later we went to get the other rooms and they made our old parents pay again even though I had paid for everything already. So disorganized. I hope we eventually get that money back but it’s causing our parents issues with their cards now. They already charged the entire stay at the start, which is bad enough , but to double charge old retired people is disgusting.

No beach towels in a beach hotel: Then we went for towels for the beach , there were no towels in the beach hotel. They could not initially give an estimate. So I asked the manager who was passing if we could use normal room towels. She the laughed at us in a bad condescending way and refused. She treated us like idiots. About 45 mins later we got some but, not enough for all of us.
When we called at about 4.30 pm, they said that Beach towels are only available between 8.00 am and 4.00 pm.
When we checked the front desk at 11.00 am the next morning they said that none were available as they are being washed.
Hopefully we will eventually get towels.

No cooking gas: then we tried to use the stove and it would not light. We had to go ask for gas. They did bring it in good time.
The rooms are not in good shape but that is acceptable if only the staff were half competent and had a real manager.

Owners do something or you will go out of business.

Hopefully we will get some towels and the double charge money back.
To people looking for a hotel , don’t stay here. Instead, stay in Johnston’s appartement on the same compound.

We have been coming to this hotel from time to time since 1975, the last time in 2017, but this will definitely be our last time.
The POSITIVE things: The hotel grounds are lovely and very well maintained. All rooms have a terrace or balcony and most have an excellent view over the garden and the sea. Also all rooms have a well equipped kitchenette. Store Bay beach is right next to the hotel and easily accessible.
The NEGATIVE things. Our Cabana has not had an upgrade since at least 25 years and is very basic. The bathroom fittings are very old. Probably the only recent addition is a hair dryer, but otherwise extremely basic and poor. No toiletries in bathroom except for a few small pieces of cheap soap. TV showing poorly as most channels are seizing up all the time. Also, the tv is wall mounted just below the ceiling so you will get a stiff neck after 5 minutes of watching. Front desk personnel look like they need a vacation themselves.
The area outside the hotel is a dump and not at all adapted for international tourism. We did not feel very safe walking there after dark. To prove my point on our second night on 18 Dec there was a shooting not far from the hotel which left 2 locals dead, drug related according to police.

Lovely hotel. You can very easily walk to Store Bay and can even see the water from just outside your room. Rooms on the bottom floor and cabanas have a back entrance which is helpful to avoid tracking sand. All rooms have microwaves and utensils. There is a mini mart next door and a gym nearby where you can purchase a day pass.
