Maïkel MAKWASI owns several pirogues and is one of the few to be insured and registered with the Paramaribo Chamber of Commerce. The fleet of pirogues, all red and white with a fish on the sides and the inscription SNOEKOE BOATS, is easy to spot. They are comfortable, with life jackets on all, and the pirogue crews are pleasant and very helpful. A good alternative to the ferry.
