Quite simply, it's the city's best shopping street! Its central location is sure to lead you there. Perpendicular to the Waterkant, the other street running the length of the river and also home to many shops, the Steenbakkerijstraat is much shorter and concentrates all types of boutiques for souvenir and gift shopping. Historically, many Creole-style houses and a long avenue of palm trees lined this street. This is truly Paramaribo's hypercentre.
