This 76-page monthly Surinamese magazine is written in Dutch, and was created 8 years ago by journalists looking for publications with objectivity or neutrality in their articles. Its founder, Jaap Hoogendam, aims to cover the country's political affairs: current politics, but also social (unemployment, prostitution), environmental, cultural and tourist issues. Very popular, Parbodeis read by 75% of Surinamese residents and 25% of Dutch residents.
