The Presidential Palace of the Republic of Suriname is located right on the border of the old town and the so-called restaurant district, next to the Suriname River. You won't want to miss it: the most prominent building in the square is the Presidential Palace! This white edifice was built in the first half of the 18th century, but many of the parts that make it up today were added later. The building and private garden are only open to the public on Independence Day, November 25.

Le Président ne siège pas là mais dans un bâtiment de bureau plus banal à quelques pas vers le fleuve.
