The first mention of St. John's Church in Beauzac, dated April 1, 1179. It then depended on the abbey of Monastier. It is dedicated to Saint John (preferred apostle of Christ) that one can see on the stained glass windows and statue in the church. The nave and the remarkable chapels date back to the th century. The restoration in 1995 brought the light into the Romanesque choir dating from the th century and recovered some paintings that adorned the church. The originality of the church of Beauzac lies in its crypt, unique in Velay, under the choir. It was discovered in 1847, during excavations to see the state of the foundations. It distinguishes itself by its light and elegant structure, despite 12 columns of granite with sculpted capitals that support the vaults of full hangers.
