MUZIUM NEGARA
South of the Lake Gardens, just outside the city center, the National Museum opened in 1906 and received its present name in 1963. It is dedicated to ethnology, archaeology and natural history. Its permanent collection is displayed in 4 galleries: prehistory, Malay kingdoms, the colonial period and present day Malaysia. Around the imposing Malay-inspired building are displayed an old locomotive, old cars and a replica of a traditional Malay palace. Guided tours in French on Thursdays and every first Saturday of the month at 10am.
