FRASER'S HILL HIKES

Fraser's Hill has 3 attractive but not always well-maintained hiking trails. Tell your hotel about your itinerary.
Pine Tree Trail: the hike is 5.5 km long and takes 7-8 hours round trip, with a difference in altitude of just 300 metres. But the trail gets lost in twists and turns. Climbing the 1,505-metre-high hill proves strenuous and requires a good physical workout.
Rompin Trail: 500 metres of arduous trail through shady forest. Railings, ropes and handrails punctuate the route. The trail was laid out by the residents of Hijau Flats, providing a shortcut to Fraser's Hill.
Maxwell Trail: the hike starts just outside Fraser's Hill, on the road leading to Kuala Lumpur. The trail stretches over 2 km of muddy, slippery terrain, with a few steep sections. You're walking through dense forest, but in the company of leeches. Wear special socks and take salt with you. At the summit, the trail joins up with the Bishop Trail, allowing you to return to Fraser's Hill by another route.
Bishop Trail: this is certainly the most popular hike around Fraser's Hill. It's ideal for birdwatching, with over 200 species recorded in the forest. There are even observation platforms. On the other hand, the slippery terrain, lack of maintenance and poor lighting make progress difficult.
