Towards the end of the 19th century, William Kellie, a rich rubber tree grower from Scotland, was taken with nostalgia for mother earth. When his son was born in 1915, he decided to build a huge house on his plantation. Moorish style openings, austerity all Scottish, the building offers a rather heterogeneous result. Malaysia's first elevator was installed in the 6-storey tower, while a tennis court was built inside. Ironically, Kellie died before the work was completed.
