It is the ancestor of the kopitiam, it dates back to 1906! Kopitiam, or coffee, is an essential element of Malaysian culture. We come here to drink coffee, of course, read our newspapers, chat with friends, as in any coffee, you might say. But it is also where you become familiar with the subtleties of Malaysian coffee: served with milk or on the contrary "O" (dark and bitter) or "poh" (light and served with condensed milk). You can also eat here and here the local dishes are particularly famous: laksa, char kuay teo, popiah.
