Coloured glass is not limited to Murano, Italy. Local artist Wong Keng Fuan is known for his superb pieces of colourful glassware. Many of them are complex, scholarly works inspired by nature. These 3D colored plumage paintings are quite impressive. There are also more classic items, such as vases or bowls. The technique used is similar to ceramics. The glass is cut and placed in moulds and then melted in a potter's oven. Oxides and dyes are then added.
