HONG KONG BAR

Opened in 1920, this bar is an institution. It was the meeting place for the military based at Butterworth. A bric-a-brac of photos, medals and plaques from a bygone era decorate the walls. Lifebuoys recovered from old ships complete the collection. The two tables set up under the arcades are quickly stormed and pictures are taken in front of the "BAR" that adorns the pillars. Inside, the places of choice are around the zinc where one sits on a stool. A nostalgic and authentic atmosphere.
