This small sanctuary with its white roof dome and blue walls was built in the early 19th century in homage to the Sufi saint Syed Shahul Hamid Qadirvoli, revered by Muslims in southern India. Inspired by the famous Durgah in Nagore (Tamil Nadu, India), where the body of this 13th-century saint rests, it is an interesting site for its South Indian Muslim architecture. It was the first Indian Muslim shrine to be built in Penang.
