This magnificent long house is typical of the homes of wealthy Peranakan families in the late 19th century. Built in 1896, four generations lived here until 1985, when the house was converted into a museum. The architecture and decoration bear witness to Malacca's diverse influences. From grand furnishings to small everyday objects, it's a plunge into the intimacy of another era. The museum provides explanatory booklets in French.

Housed in a traditional Chinese house, this excellent museum with a little old-fashioned charm allows you to dip back hundred years behind and discover the curious heritage Peranakan, this community of Chinese union and malaysian women. The design of the house is typical Chinese houses of the time, long and on two floors. The rooms are for some of finesse exceptional, and guides nyonyas will be happy to tell you about the history of their ancestors. A pleasant and educational visit, on a street that also has some very attractive restaurants in the same style.
