THE ORANGUTAN HOUSE
Charles Cham is a little the prodigy of Malacca. Born in this historic city, he went to study painting in France. He became a member of the Association of Independent Artists in Aix-en-Provence and exhibited his works at the Salon des indépendants in 1990 and 1991. In 1993 he installed his studio in his hometown of Malacca and named the House of Orang-utans! Since then it has brought exhibitions, in Asia and around the world: in 1996, the exhibition Oceania in France, in 1997 the Yin Yang Paintings in Australia, in 2000 the Yellow Culture in Singapore, and in 2003, an exhibition at Raissac Castle. In short, Charles Cham is an international artist, although he remains committed to Malacca, and his workshop is worth a detour: it is a former house of Chinese clans that it has decorated its favourite colours, yellow and orange. He painted on the walls the text of the Declaration on Human Rights. You can buy its original, colourful and engaged works in a table or tee-shirt.
