ST. PETER'S CHURCH
This church, listed as a Monument Historique, is one of the most surprising monuments of Romanesque Auvergne.
Listed as a historic monument, the church is one of the most surprising and oldest Benedictine abbeys in Romanesque Auvergne. The church's originality lies in the radical changes of direction it underwent during its construction, so much so that the apse and choir are now larger than the nave. Note the voussoirs of the south portal, decorated with flowers, as well as the modillions and capitals. The nave, known as the "Ladies' Choir", now houses the treasury. Allow around 1h30 for the visit.
