These former abandoned tin mines have been converted into a museum to show the history of the city and the mines. The museum is housed in a foreman's house and displays photographs, objects and clothing. The mine started operating in 1906 and closed 80 years later following the drastic drop in tin prices. Not really unavoidable, but the nearby village of Sungai Lembing is interesting for enjoying excellent Chinese cuisine (noodles, tofu, cookies...). A good idea for a half-day excursion.
