Tanoti is committed to preserving Sarawak's traditional handicraft technique, songket. This is a delicate work of hand-woven brocade incorporated with gold or silver thread. The brand relies on a network of women who perpetuate hand-weaving. In Kuching, housed in a large colonial house, Tanoti has a weaving workshop and a boutique-gallery. The workshop can be visited by calling ahead. Some of the most sublime pieces were presented at the Paris Fashion Show and the Ethical Fashion Show in Berlin.
