It is not easy to find a reasonably priced hotel in downtown Singapore. The Robertson Quay performs these good offices in its large round tower overlooking the river. The old-fashioned setting seems to have remained unchanged for decades, as evidenced by the wallpaper and carpeting in the rooms. These are quite small, but very bright and the most pleasant ones obviously overlook the river. We enjoy the swimming pool on the roof, which allows us to forget the dampness and frenzy of Singapore for a few moments.
