TONG AH EATING HOUSE

Located in a white and red Art Deco shophouse, Tong Ah (or Tong Ya) Coffe Shop is a must in Chinatown for an old-fashioned breakfast of kopi (coffee) or teh (tea), eggs and kaya toast. If Chinatown sometimes looks like Disneyland, there is an authentic atmosphere here. Apart from the setting, there is nothing extraordinary to report about the kitchen, but the place is ideal for strolling around at breakfast like a local. Lots of animation in the morning, try to get a place on the terrace to watch the hustle and bustle of the street!
