Singapore also has its blue mosque! Besides its blue color, it is recognizable by its golden domes. Officially opened in 1963, Masjid Malabar is entirely managed by the community from the Malabar coast, a region located on the southwest coast of the Indian peninsula. At the back of the mosque is the old royal cemetery dating from 1819, now abandoned. The Malabar community was originally suppliers to food stores and are credited with the success of the Biryani and the famous murtabak.
