The history of the temple dates back to the 1850s with the discovery of a statue of Lord Vinayagar next to a pond. Pillai Ethirnayagam, a Tamil from Ceylon, began the construction of a temple which was at first only a modest shelter. Rebuilt in 2003, the temple is dedicated to Vinayagar, a manifestation of the divine reality that gives man a sense of discernment. Praying Vinayagar brings harmony to family, friends and professional relationships.
