A temple nestling in the center of Tanjong Pagar, it was inaugurated in 1905 by the monk Swee Oi. Named Seng Wong Bel in the Hokkein dialect, it means Temple of the City God. It is built in the style of village temples in southern China, using materials from China. It combines Buddhist and Taoist elements. The entrance door features the god of the door and the 8 immortals. The temple is still active, and is renowned for its ghost weddings at the request of parents whose children have died.
