Built in 1855, the Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple, dedicated to Vishnu, is one of the oldest Hindu temples in Singapore. It does not go unnoticed with its 22-metre high colourful gopuram and floors detailing the nine reincarnations of Vishnu. Today it is the starting point for the procession during the Thaipusam Festival. Go to the Sri Peruma Temple to witness the preparation of the faithful, a ritual during which they pierce their faces and bodies.
