BABA HOUSE
Built around 1895, Baba House was once the home of a wealthy Peranakan, Wee Bin. Today, it is the only Peranakan house transformed into a museum. It has been placed under the authority of the National University of Singapore (NUS) which organizes tours. It is also an object of study in heritage preservation, social and urban history and cultural diversity for students. More than 2,000 objects are on display, testifying to the richness of Baba-Nyonya culture. Reservations are required for the visit, to be made by phone or on the Internet.
