Former residence of the dean of the chapter in Brioude, one of the essential elements of the fortified enclosure in the Middle Ages.
Just a stone's throw from the basilica, the Doyenné, with its coat-of-arms ceiling listed as a historic monument, has benefited from a major, high-quality restoration that has turned the building into a cultural center with five exhibition halls. This center for modern and contemporary art offers world-class exhibitions (Chagall, Miro, Picasso...) curated by Jean-Louis Prat. All five rooms are open to the public, especially schoolchildren.
