LE MARCHE CENTRAL
Still called bazaar, it is the oldest market of Port Louis. An institution in its own right, it occupies two floors of a covered building and happily spills over into the surrounding streets. If its visit is a must even when you have nothing to buy, the place is also popular for daily shopping as evidenced by the number of locals who go there every day. Food products (fruits, vegetables, herbs, spices, vanilla, meats, fish...), clothes and accessories, handicrafts abound. Prices a little higher than elsewhere.
