Agency offering a selection of experiences to better understand the identity and complex diversity of the island
Because a city or a country is never as beautiful as when seen through the eyes of those who have experienced it from the inside, daring to cross thresholds and open doors, and because we love and welcome this immersive, committed and eco-responsible approach to local culture, we invite you to take part in one of the walks, immersions and/or initiations patiently devised by the My Moris experts. From the four corners of the island, the passionate team offers a choice of experiences to help you better understand the identity and complex diversity of Mauritius, and get to know its places and people: go to the market, cook and have lunch with Rosemonde; learn how to make "diyas" with potter Salil; learn how to weave vacoas in the workshop of Fabiola and her friends, and so on.
For the walk entitled Les mille visages de Port Louis, head to Caudan for 3 hours of gentle strolling, with an attentive eye and a keen sense of smell, to discover places of worship and unusual shops, as well as tasty Port Louis street food. The common thread running through this stroll is sharing and encounters - with old craftsmen still in business, whose stores are marvellous witnesses to ancient know-how; with street vendors and gargote owners, whose stalls exude the true flavours of Mauritian cuisine with Indian, Creole and Chinese influences - and with tasting stops.
