MILL MUSEUM
Picturesque place with a nice view on the harbor, exhibits tools, millstones, old or more recent pictures..
The original mill was built in 1736 on the orders of the French governor Mahé de La Bourdonnais to supply flour to port workers. Rebuilt almost identically, it is a picturesque site with a lovely view over the harbor. It stands at the heart of a district steeped in history, within walking distance of the Intercontinental Slavery Museum and the Aapravasi Ghat. It can therefore form part of a more comprehensive cultural tour. The interior, not a must-see but quick to visit, displays tools, millstones, old and more recent photos..
