The 4 bridges link the ancient villages of Brives and Charensac
The 4 bridges constitute the link between the old villages of Brives and Charensac. The bridge of Chartreuse, served the main road from Puy-en-Velay to Lyon. It is located on the site of an old Gallic bridge. It was swept away several times by the floods of the Loire. The current one dates from the 18th century, it is part of the Monuments Historiques, and is accessible by pedestrians. The old bridge dates from the XIIth century and has only two arches which have been damaged by time and the Loire river. It is also classified as a historical monument...
