Although the beach in the center of Grand Baie has been improved (with the demarcation of a bathing zone), swimming here is limited by the large number of boats anchored in the bay, and idleness is diminished by the din of the city and the noise of cars and mopeds. We prefer the quiet beach of La Cuvette, visually facing out to sea, partially shaded by filaos, covered in fine sand and blessed with a pleasantly deep lagoon ideal for a good swim in intense turquoise! On-site: snack and drinks stands.
