As in most markets of this type, prices are not fixed and are discussed directly with the fisherman, taking into account a number of criteria: whether or not the catch of the day is abundant, season, species offered for sale, weight, etc. Times vary, so it's best to try and find out the day before, so as not to find yourself in front of an empty stand - usually in the late morning or afternoon. In any case, the sale livens up the market and, whether you buy or not, gives you the opportunity to discover the species of fish cooked in Mauritius.
