Lighthouse of 46 meters high, the only semaphore still in activity on the island, recognizable by its red and white bands
Recognizable by its red and white bands, proudly erected on the cliffs of Pointe aux Caves, the 46-metre high Albion lighthouse is the only semaphore still in activity on the island. Among the four lighthouses built under British colonization, it is the last to still perform its duty as a guide to a dangerous coastline, as evidenced by the number of shipwrecks that have occurred in the area. The visit depends on the presence and good will of the keeper who lives next door. From the top: panoramic view of the West.
