At Morne Brabant, 149 cosy rooms and suites in a hotel of timeless luxury and immediate, enveloping charm
Zen, warm, romantic - this is the trilogy without false notes of this timeless 5-star hotel, with its enveloping and immediate charm, with its magnificent coconut grove, its pools blended into nature, its restaurants open onto the water. Noble materials and natural tones dress 149 rooms and suites. Also spa, fitness, miniclub, etc. and all those little touches and experiences that make LUX* hotels special: a drink in the perched hut, a moment in Vik's hut, a session at the Junk Art Studio, etc. An eternal favourite!

Dates: 23-30 Sept 2023
Package: Full board
Pros: Amazing location. Quiet unless the kids are unhappy. Lovely beach. Nice mellow afternoon and evening activities (marshmallow roast, fire dancers, rum tasting, etc). Water is great for swimming, snorkeling, paddle board and more.
Cons: Housekeeping schedule is weird. Came back from a day excursion and they were just getting to our room at 5:30PM. The day previous turndown service was still in the room well past 9:00PM.
Buffet food and service leaves so much to be desired. The Beach is an excellent alternative. East is also very good, but for unclear reasons is disappointingly excluded from full board package. Concierge / reception is disorganized and failed at booking us for a dinner reservation and generally drops the ball in communication.
I'm also pretty irritated that someone on staff at The Kitchen stole my sunglasses instead of turning them in. They aren't fancy, but I liked them.
The Worst: if you are any type of diver, give this place a miss. The dive shop - Easy Divers administered by Blue World Explore - is perhaps the worst on the island. Appallingly expensive, and only Jason is a competent and friendly dive guide. Expect to be rushed thru your dives and finish with 100b in the tank. They also categorically avoided taking us on the best dives in the south of the island, despite their exorbitant pricing. An excuse every day. If I'm bringing my own equipment and paying 60€ per dive, I expect an experience that is memorable for something other than what was lacking.
Overall: 5-star location, 2.5-star execution. For the money, I won't be staying at another Lux* property anywhere.
