It's the best Mauritian school for wingfoil, the trendy board sport, a subtle combination of SUP and kiteboarding, practiced with a small board equipped with a foil (to fly above the water) and a wing (or directional wing not connected to the board, held by a boom or handles). Learning is relatively quick and easy, especially under the guidance of Jean de Falbaire (Mauritius champion) and his instructors.
Less well known than Le Morne to the south-west or the Anse la Raie lagoon to the north, and much less frequented (which is one of its assets), the Pointe d'Esny-Mahébourg spot is nevertheless ideal for wingfoil and board sports in general. We're on the largest lagoon in Mauritius, a huge body of water blessed with steady winds and rarely more than two meters deep. Foil sailors love it and often find themselves in the shallow end of the lagoon, known as the pool, which has hosted the Hydrofoil Pro Tour on several occasions.
The conditions are ideal for beginners, but also for those wishing to progress, or simply to have a good time, particularly during the downwinds and multi-hour foiling expeditions offered by the club, which is delighted to be able to offer "a 30-kilometer edge"!
Of course, you can rent equipment on site and test out the latest from Duotone. If the wind sulks and/or the weather is gloomy, the center offers several alternative activities: SUP, wakeboarding, wakefoiling.
