Bel hôtel, mais les chambres ont vraiment besoin d’un rafraîchissement . Le buffet est bon. Loin de tout, pour se déplacer, pas le choix de prendre un taxi.

We stayed at Solana for 7 nights in September for our Honeymoon. This was our first time in Mauritius. We arrived quite late in the evening, and the lady who assisted us upon check-in was lovely, and gave us a good breakdown of the resort. However we found that the staff at reception for the rest of our stay were quite unfriendly.
We had a ground level room facing the ocean, and the view is spectacular. Our room was standard, but overall comfortable and clean. Our shower door leaked at the bottom due to ill-fitting doors, but we made do.
Our house keeper Veena put a smile on my face every day. What a wonderful attentive lady. Each day she left us with a beautiful note and folded towels in swans, dogs and elephants, and on the day of my birthday she just made my day. Veena is 1 in a million and I can't stress enough what a difference it makes to have a house-keeper with a personal, caring touch.
We were on full-board, so all food was inclusive, but we paid for our drinks. The food is good, and served as a buffet 3 times a day, but a little more variety is recommended. The drinks we found to be expensive, and bottled water comes at quite a hefty price too. We requested ice in our room on 2 separate occasions and paid heftily for ice. This should be free to guests, considering there are no ice-trays available in the bar fridges.
For my birthday we had a candle-light dinner in the Gazebo, and we absolutely loved this experience, the food and effort put in by the staff was excellent, I highly recommend booking this. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay, there are great water activities available, the beach and sea is magnificent, but I do recommend taking water shoes with, as there is a lot of coral in the swimming area, and on the beach.
For those that are wanting to go on day trips, the resort is quite a distance away from everything, and taxi's are expensive. The buses also do not pass through this area.
The pool and bar area are really nice too. This resort is definitely perfect if you are looking for relaxation above everything.
Lastly, there was an adorable stray cat on the premises while we were there, as an animal lover, I was delighted to have him greeting us on the pathways, and strolling through the buffet area to say hi. I know this is not for everyone, but I do hope that Solana is being kind to him, a resort with a friendly resident cat has a warmth to it, and they do help keep the pests away.

Great times spent with friends at Solana hotel. The waiter very friendly, food was great, had a good times in the pool. Big thanks to the leisure manager Mr Chris and his team for entertaining us during our petangue match and volley ball. It is our 7th times at the hotel and sure will be back again.

Hotel excentré, prévoir impérativement une voiture ou scooter.
Ne mérite 3 ou 4 étoiles.
L hôtel est propre mais vieillissant. La demi pension pas top. Buffet très moyen, ambiance cantine.. enfin le personnel est souvent très jeune et payé au lance pierre, donc forcément le service s en ressent.
Sinon le cadre est top comme toutes les plages de l’ile
Ne mérite 3 ou 4 étoiles.

Les points positifs: taille de l'hôtel relativement petite et donc peu de monde. Il y a toujours de la place à la plage et/ou la piscine durant toute la journée. Environnement calme, adult only. Le cadre est verdoyant, les jardins et alentours très bien entretenus et nettoyés quotidiennement. Le service au restaurant est efficace et agréable, toujours souriants et compétents. Le coin SPA et les massages proposés sont de qualité.
Les points négatifs: Le plus gros: nous avions pris all-inclusive et il s'avère que ce n'est pas si "all-inclusive" que cela: le principale de la carte des boissons n'en fait pas partie, seuls quelques cocktails sont gratuits, et il faut débourser de l'argent supplémentaire pour beaucoup de cocktails, liqueurs, boissons. Pareil pour les "snacks" proposés par le bar indigo, tous sont payants. Les restaurants à la carte sont également, pour la plupart des mets, à payer également. Le mini-bar et le café dans la chambre sont aussi restreints: certaines choses sont à payer en plus. Le système de facturation (billets à signer constamment) ne nous semble pas être le plus pratique.
Deuxième gros point négatif: la nourriture. Le restaurant principale "cinnamon" est de qualité moyenne: les plats sont répétitifs, souvent froids et avec peu de choix. A notre étonnement, on ne trouve pas de fruits de mers, et peu de variété de poissons. Pour en avoir, il faut à nouveau payer en suppléments. Les desserts sont pour la plupart industriels et insignifiants.
Par ailleurs, les membres de la réception principale ne sont pas des plus orientés "satisfaction clients". Un exemple parmi d'autres: nous avions acheté des fruits frais au marché de Port-Louis et impossible de nous donner un couteau - sous prétexte que les consignes de l'hôtel sont tels - pour couper nos fruits. La proposition: se rendre à la cuisine - à l'opposé de notre chambre - pour couper nos fruits.
De plus, au paiement des suppléments en fin de séjour, ils ont ajouté discrétement sans nous demander, une somme pour "Southern Cross Legacy"
En conclusion: de belles vacances à l'île Maurice mais nous espérions une qualité supérieure digne d'un 4* et un réel "all-inclusive". De manière générale, le personnel est compétent et agréable.
Les points négatifs: Le plus gros: nous avions pris all-inclusive et il s'avère que ce n'est pas si "all-inclusive" que cela: le principale de la carte des boissons n'en fait pas partie, seuls quelques cocktails sont gratuits, et il faut débourser de l'argent supplémentaire pour beaucoup de cocktails, liqueurs, boissons. Pareil pour les "snacks" proposés par le bar indigo, tous sont payants. Les restaurants à la carte sont également, pour la plupart des mets, à payer également. Le mini-bar et le café dans la chambre sont aussi restreints: certaines choses sont à payer en plus. Le système de facturation (billets à signer constamment) ne nous semble pas être le plus pratique.
Deuxième gros point négatif: la nourriture. Le restaurant principale "cinnamon" est de qualité moyenne: les plats sont répétitifs, souvent froids et avec peu de choix. A notre étonnement, on ne trouve pas de fruits de mers, et peu de variété de poissons. Pour en avoir, il faut à nouveau payer en suppléments. Les desserts sont pour la plupart industriels et insignifiants.
Par ailleurs, les membres de la réception principale ne sont pas des plus orientés "satisfaction clients". Un exemple parmi d'autres: nous avions acheté des fruits frais au marché de Port-Louis et impossible de nous donner un couteau - sous prétexte que les consignes de l'hôtel sont tels - pour couper nos fruits. La proposition: se rendre à la cuisine - à l'opposé de notre chambre - pour couper nos fruits.
De plus, au paiement des suppléments en fin de séjour, ils ont ajouté discrétement sans nous demander, une somme pour "Southern Cross Legacy"
En conclusion: de belles vacances à l'île Maurice mais nous espérions une qualité supérieure digne d'un 4* et un réel "all-inclusive". De manière générale, le personnel est compétent et agréable.

For an all inclusive this was a VERY basic trip.
The hotel itself is nice, some of the rooms are a bit dated but I booked a suite which was spacious and accommodating.
However the downfall was the service and food/drink.
Service:
Slow. Very slow. On more than one occasion I had to wait 20 minutes for a glass of wine with dinner. The staff are friendly enough don't get me wrong, but the service was poor.
Food/Drink:
Given this was an all inclusive, the amount of food/drink that was a paid surcharge was shocking. The food in the all inclusive was extremely poor, bland and repetitive. I'm not sure why they need a pizza corner every.single.night. Between myself and my partner we spend an extra £600 over the week just because we'd rather eat nice food - which is an extreme number after already paying for the privilege of all inclusive.

I think that maybe my expectations were higher as it is a 4star hotel,. Since it is from the same family group as the presquil hotel (I've been there twice, it is also a 4star hotel).
Food at presquil hotel is much better, variety and quality is much better !
I went on an all inclusive stay package, price higher ofc than a half board package at presquil and I would rather recommend presquil in terms of food package!
However, the place, the calmness, the beach, and privacy not that bad,.
Room was okay.
Service was ok.
But no connection on television for netflix or youtube was a bit surprising!

L'hôtel est juste magnifique, bien taillé et bien présenté, sécurité au top ainsi que le personnel de tout l'hôtel.
Un grand merci à Veena (housekeeping) qui a su mettre du soleil supplémentaire à ce séjour.
Chambre très propre nettoyé 3 fois par jours si besoin est.
L'équipe d'animation au top, merci Milena????????.
Différentes ambiances pour les bars, pour toutes les ambiances.
Juste le buffet du Cinamon un peu plus variés pour les plats chauds et les desserts avec plus de fruits.
Le pomelo est excellent vraiment à conseiller mais pensez à la réservation ????.
Et n'hésitez pas la Kaz nautique qui sauront vous renseigner pour les activités nautiques de l'hôtel.
