An interesting collection of manuscripts on the history of the Mascarene Islands in the municipal library of Curepipe.
Next to the Town Hall is the Public Library, built in 1917 in English neoclassical style thanks to a donation from the Carnegie Foundation of New York. It contains an interesting collection of manuscripts on the history of the Mascarenes. In one of the rooms, local and international magazines can be consulted on site. In addition to the statue of Abbot La Caille, who gave the island its first overall plan, the gardens house a bronze replica of the statue of Paul and Virginia made by Prosper d'Espinay.
