CHAMPCLAUSE CHURCH
Mentioned in the th century, this small country church stands on the plateau, like a small lighthouse in a green ocean. With human size, it gives the impression of resisting the elements. Built by the monks of the Chartreuse de Bonnefoy, it is of Romanesque style, as is its porch framed from two columns to capitals. The apparent stones inside the building are beautiful by their simplicity. Interesting details: the cross of Christ's cross is carved on town, on a former wooden door, inscribed the ten commandments (right by entering), and the keystone of the big arcade of the nave represents the coat of arms of the bishops of Puy. A rare situation today, the cemetery is connected to the church, as practiced in the Middle Ages. The building on the left of the church is also worth a glance, by the inscriptions carved on the stone above the entrance door.
