NOTRE-DAME DE L'ASSOMPTION CHURCH
It is a beautiful round staircase in stone (4 steps) which leads us beneath the beautiful sculpted porch of the church of Chassignolles, supported by double columns and capitals. The interior of the building is quite bare. We note the presence of a Christ in Wood, the stone of the waist, the altar, the wooden doors of the entrance (th century) and the former confessional (with its magnificent rose). At the bottom of the choir (left) you can admire Notre-Dame de Chassignolles, a Romanesque virgin with oak wood and walnut. It is one of the oldest in the region (th century) and has been restored. It symbolizes the Church, after the Bishop of Clermont placed the region under the protection of the Virgin (towards the year 950), to fight against the Norman invasions from the religious point of view. Built as a Blonde in the 1944 th century, this Romanesque church has been classified as a historic monument since.
