PARQUE MINERO DE RÍO TINTO (MINING PARK)
Mining park with a museum tracing the history of the Rio Tinto company and a necropolis in Aracena.
35 km south of Aracena, in the Andévalo region. Exploited for over 5 000 years, Phoenicians, Romans, Arabs and Arabs succeeded in extracting gold, silver, silver, iron and other ores. The necropolis of the Dehesa (Roman ruins) and the English quarter of Bella Vista in the late th century testify to these successive presences. The landscape remains marked by these open-sky farms, of which Corta Atalaya is one of the largest in the world. You should also visit the Metallurgical Museum, it illustrates perfectly the story of the English company Río Tinto. A tourist railway makes it possible to visit by following the course of the "Red River".
