CENTRO DE VISITANTES CORTES DE LA FRONTERA
Go there and contact
Cortes de la Frontera is a charming town in a privileged setting, surrounded by the natural parks of Los Alcornocales, Sierra de Grazalema and Sierra de las Nieves. The tourist information center of this beautiful municipality in the Ronda region is therefore a gateway to these three natural areas (Please note: this tourist information center is 42 km from the nearest access point to the Sierra de las Nieves nature park, located at kilometer 13.6 of the A-397 road linking Ronda to San Pedro d'Alcántara. Estimated journey time: 50 minutes). This center offers visitors the chance to discover the landscapes, nature, history and people of the region. These natural areas are characterized by great diversity and contrast, yet share many common elements. Water, for example, plays a fundamental role in these parks, shaping the landscape and fostering the survival of such singular forest formations as the pinsapares of Sierra de las Nieves and Grazalema, or the laurisilva of Los Alcornocales. Through large panoramas and three-dimensional elements, a quick visit to each of these parks is simulated, allowing visitors to observe their particular features. Three interactive stations with a touch-sensitive carpet linked to a screen allow visitors to take a more in-depth journey into these territories. Humankind is also a factor common to all these areas, having influenced the evolution of their landscapes through agriculture and forestry, as demonstrated by the exhibition that visitors will find inside the center, and more particularly in its audiovisual "La Nature, c'est toi" ("Nature is you"). The center is accessible to people with reduced mobility. What's more, some of its features have been adapted for people with hearing and visual impairments.
