AÉROPORT
Gibraltar International Airport, located in the town of Gibraltar, is both a civil airport serving the British enclave and a Royal Air Force military base. Built to the north of the rock, close to the Spanish border, the airport has a short runway of 1,829 meters, which limits the number of wide-body aircraft it can accommodate. The legality of the airport is controversial, as the Spanish government considers the territory on which it is built to be outside the territories recognized to England. Winston-Churchill Avenue, the only road linking the city to Spain, passes through the runway. The main airlines serving the airport are British Airways, Eastern Airways and easyJet, with destinations including London, Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh and Manchester.
