L'ALIVU GOLDCAR HOLIDAY START BADLY! We had EXPERIENCE VERY DISAPPOINTING with Goldcar. During a one-week trip in Tenerife we were attracted by the attractive prices of this car stable keeper. We therefore reserved and paid in line 50€ for a FIAT 500. BAD SURPRISE ON ARRIVAL: we began with 2:30 OF TAIL TO the COUNTER to collect the keys of the car when there were only ten people in front of us. During this time, we observed that at all their competitors instructions to fill were fast. Once across the counter shopper we understand why it was so long, the latter asked us to pay 161€ as the 50€ on the Internet. This price included 53€ petrol (goldcar rents the full vehicles and request to make them more any empty), 31€ of surplus for the driver young people (because the driver was 24 years old and not 25... it is low since it is 6 years of licence and that you can only one year-old licence for a 30 years if it is passed late!!!!), 58€ of insurance and €19 tax. I request not to pay the insurance which is already included in my visa and the counter shopper just tell me, if I do not want to pay, I must pour 800€ ensure that me will be reimbursed once and the returned car! I was therefore need to take the insurance since I did not have the means be debited from €800!
At the end of the stay there had not been an signposting on how and where to get the car. We follow the signs to the airport. We finally found an employee of Goldcar who governed the remaining fuel level (the equivalent of 60 km) and the return they reimbursed US petrol not spent i.e. €11. I THUS DISADVISE OF THIS RENTER CAR TO YOU WHICH DISPLAYS COMPETITIVE PRICES BUT MADE PAY A HEAVY TOUCH ON ARRIVAL.

This practice seems widespread in Goldcar. We had same experience in Fuerteventura. The price of call is attractive, but you systematically are charged full of fuel together with excessive tax.

One paid 45€ on the Internet for a 5 day short stay in Girona with a voucher indiquanr " paid entirely ".

Arrival at the airport, you have to pay a again from €169 number for full, complementary insurance €8 per day to be able to France and comprehensive insurance imposed from the fact that our payment menu was not a " credit card " , when it was however a visa.
