At an altitude of 700 m, the botanical conservatory of the Massif Central presents a rich and varied flora: more than 3,000 Atlantic, Mediterranean, continental and even Alpine species are presented there. The conservatory carries out general knowledge actions of the wild flora and rare and threatened species. It maintains a national collection of blackcurrant and redcurrant varieties, and participates in the safeguarding of fruit species traditionally grown in Auvergne.
