ESTEPONA ORCHIDARIUM
This complex, which includes a botanical park and orchidarium, allows you to discover 1,300 species of orchids from all over the world
Inaugurated in March 2015, this ensemble combining a botanical park and an orchidarium is the work of two architects, Fernando Gómez Huete and Gustavo Gómez Huete, in collaboration with landscapist Laura Pou. Occupying the former land of an agricultural cooperative, this area of almost 13,000 m ² includes an orchidarium, a botanical garden (5,000 plants in total, a waterfall and plant circuits). Orchidarium alone occupies an area of 1,000 m ² and an interior volume of about 15,000 m ³. It is a set of three glass cuts, the highest of which reaches nearly 30 meters, making it one of the highest in Spain. Inside, it brings together more than 1,300 species of orchids from all over the world, making it the largest European collection on this theme, and one of the largest in the world.
