ANTIGUA CASA DEL CORREGIDOR
One of the most noble buildings of the Casco Antiguo and a very emblematic example of 16th century Castilian architecture
It was originally a 2-storey building that bears the mark of different styles: an Alfiz decorating a cornice on the façade, an Arabo-Andalusian reminiscence; a Gothic-style pointed arch mixed with plant decoration, specific to Mudejar art; a Renaissance-style stone door. It housed the Corregidor, a royal official whose mission was to represent royalty in the commune. Both administrative and economic manager.
