PLAZA DE TOROS DE MIJAS
A plaza built at the beginning of the 20th century with a particular shape, small and square, unusual in Spain
Built at the beginning of the 20th century at the request of a group of local residents, it has a particular small, square shape, unusual in Spain, and its entrance door retains the appearance of a typical white house. Since its inauguration, it has been the site of numerous bull runs, originally from the Málaga vega to the Mijas rest area, where the Hotel Mijas now stands. They would then be driven to the plaza after crossing the village, during which the boys would run in front of the young bulls. Activities that no longer take place today. Next to the plaza is a small bullfighting museum. With its "doll" plaza look, it's an integral part of the tour: you can sit in the president's chair and see the little chapel. The price remains a little high, however.
