HOTEL RESIDENCIA MIAMI * *
Hotel in a pleasant historical setting, near the beach in Torremolinos.
Originally, this small palace was the country home of the great flamenco dancer Lola Medina, queen of the gypsies of Granada's Sacro Monte. The building was designed and decorated around 1950 by Manuel Blascos, Pablo Ruiz Picasso's cousin. It was a meeting place for leading literary and intellectual figures of the time. The house was subsequently purchased and converted into a hotel in 1957. The hotel is continually renovated for the comfort of guests, while retaining the Andalusian style of the period and the charm of the house. Open 8 months a year, and benefiting from the region's warm climate, it's an ideal place to spend a vacation in a typical setting, far from the buildings of the Costa del Sol. Enjoy the swimming pool, restaurant, shops and nearby beach. And to liven up your evenings, there's nothing better than the Benalmadena marina (10 minutes' walk away), where you'll find the trendiest nightclubs.
